April 26th, 2007 - what a turnaround it has been….

Thanks to the creator of this site…may your tribe increase…It has been a great journey from 1984 Batch….the ethics inculcated into us during the tenure at CFTRI has taken us a long way in this fast paced world. I thank God for making it possible to stay, study and live in CFTRI. Even today very time I get to visit India, CFTRI is in the itinerary. There are no words that can be described in appreciation of our beloved teachers…who while teaching had no idea that they were empowering us to take on this world…my salutations to them.    I have seen most of the mails contain names of teachers that have made an impact on us, however I would like to mention two more names, Uncle Ranga and Puttamadhu (School Assistant). Uncle Ranga has been always a charmer and looked after the kid’s pretty well; while Puttamadhu was the “errand” boy for the school…he was also the Mr. Dependable. Even now when I see him, he cycles from school to CFTRI bank in his trade mark green uniform.  My prayers and best wishes for the teachers, students and well-wishers’ for CFTRI.    Three cheers to CFTRI

April 10th, 2007 - A salute of gratitude to our teachers

Hi Jayant,
I am Jyothi Rama Rao, a Management Consultant, Staying in UAE with my husband and my 11-year-old daughter.
I was a student of CFTRI 1986 batch.
Firstly congrats for coordinating such a great event. I know its over a month now, but what to do, I happened to see it only now. You did what all of us want to do or should I say wish to do!
Today after 20 yrs of leaving this wonderful school, as I was browsing the net for some good hotels & tour operators in Mysore for our annul holiday in India,( (I live in Dubai with my husband &  daughter) just out of curiosity I gave a search on Google for CFTRI school Mysore, and I had the most pleasurable surprise when I got to see our school site.
Though I browse the net regularly, I my self was surprised why I didn’t bother to do this earlier.
I was just speechless seeing pictures of our wonderful teachers-Aunty Sujaya, Aunty Hema, Aunty Parvathy, and the unforgettable uncle Ranga who have aged so gracefully.
Suddenly everything seemed as though it was just yesterday.

Aunty Hema was very dear to me because very often she spoke to me in Telugu, which is our mother tongue.

Aunty Parvathy was the most gentle & soft-spoken teacher ,aunty Sujaya  was thought to be tough ,but that was only on the  exterior, she was very kindhearted lady.
Again I am at loss for words, only If I could write every memory thats coming to my mind.
But one thing that I want to complement our dear teachers is that, the kind of effort they all took to teach us, I don’t /didn’t find it, in any of the best schools that my daughter went to or is going to(she is  studying/studied in one of the  bests schools  in Dubai,Abu Dhabi,Qatar,Oman, Hyderabad)

So dear teachers you can be assured that you all have done a wonderful job & helped us to become successful individuals. Thank you & wish you all a very  healthy & happy life.
With Regards

April 10th, 2007 - GTG – 1997 Batch

Organising a get together is not easy.. but nevertheless, I was inspired by Jayanth and started organising one…

We did have one GTG of our batch (organised ably by Chaitra) on 8th April last year and since this year, it was the midst of a long Easter weekend and most of our batchmates r techies, I thought it best if we met on 7th April for dinner. We also had a plan to have an outing on 8th April.

Called Chaitra, took the contact numbers of all the people with whom I wasn’t in touch — Called people and requested them to spread the news, scrapped people on Orkut for asking them to come to the Get Together. Though many showed their interest initially, slowly people backed out either due to work at office or due to some personal reasons.

Many people did come, though they initially had mentioned that it will be difficult for them to make it… and the best part was.. just by hearing this from someone else that there might be a GTG, people started calling others and did make it to the GTG!!!

We all met by 7 PM @ The Royal Inn, off ORR, Metagalli, Mysore. Chaitra, Swapna, Swaroopini and Archana the first to make it and I walked in next.. By the time people came in and dinner started, it was 9 PM. Talk about time sense!

We had a group of 22 initially, who had confirmed.. On that day, people, on calling, informed us that they could not make it and we ended up with just 13 of us. Just when I thought that it is going to be a damp squid, there were 6 more people who had never confirmed, who had never been contacted (due to lack of contact information), but just that they came to know about the GTG, they took pains to contact others and did make it.. that was really amazing!

Though there was nothing formal about this GTG, we met our classmates after a huge time gap (in one case.. 10 years)… That was what made this GTG special!!!

We did have plans to go for an outing the next morning, but due to time constraints and also due to the lack of participation from many people, the outing was cancelled :-(

I hope we’ll be able to have these kinds of GTG more frequently and that we can relive those wonderful moments that we had spent in CFTRI school together.
