Donation to School-Alumni 1985

Guys, this Republic Day was indeed a special one. We, the Alumni-1985, about 20 of us managed to raise fund of Rs.48K and donated to school 17 reversible desk, this Republic Day 26-Jan-2010. The school needs were not being met through their budget. What better way to say “thank you” for all that we have received there! Now our classmates are in for the second round of contribution.

Director, Staff members & Education Society members were overwhelmed with the kind act of generosity.

Sad Demise – Aunty Hema

“Dirty Pig” she used to yell at me. I would run miles away from her when I had done a mistake. How ever, over years I fell in love with her style of teaching mathematics. I was so impressed that I took private classes from her during my last year in school. Aunty Hema was a legend and is responsible for a lot of learning I have had in school especially with Mathematics and Physics which wasnt really the easiest of subjects for a Not-So-Studious kid.

Today I heard of her demise from juniors in school. It seems she underwent a heart attack and bid good bye to this complex world. We last met her in 2006 during the great Get-together of our school. I cannot forget her for ever and am sure none of you can ever.

She wrote on my Autograph book “Think like a man of actions and act like a man of thoughts“ – I am trying hard dear Aunty!

On behalf of every CFTRI Alumni, I pray that may her soul rest in peace.

One of our brilliant alumnus, Mr. M D Madhusudhan has just received the prestigious Whitley Award, which is also known as the Green Oscar, for the efforts that he has put in to reduce the human-wildlife conflict in the Western Ghats.

I take this opportunity to congratulate him on behalf of the other alumnus of CFTRI school.

We would love to have him attend one of the get togethers and give us some information about his awesome work.

Madhu, Great to have you in our midst and Congratulations again!

I was at CFTRI between my 2nd and 6th standards. 1977 to 1981. Aunty Parvathy, Aunty Sujaya and Aunty Geetha and of course Ranga Uncle left lasting impressions on me. What I still remember are the long walks to the main CFTRI buildings to watch Robinson Crusoe oon the 16 mm film projector, running around the fields and going to a couple of class mates’s house at the quarters behind the school where the tall grass used to be a challenge for a little kid afraid of wild things. The science exhibitions were another looked forward to event along with the annual book. Some class mates I remeber are Sridhar, Sujay, Ramesh, Nitin, Sangeetha Potti if you are seeing this mail me some time.

mmm…CFTRi..the name rings in me a special feeling.the place where 12 years of my life had been spent.the place which binds me to some feelings which are unsaid.the teachers,their friendliness,our classmates,those small fights,those mis-understandings,those games…huh..never will they come back in life…it was a pleasant experience being at the school.after that i have not found any teacher as the ones who had been there..Hemachandra Sir,Sharma Sir,Geetha madam,Parvathi madam,Chinmayee….they are the people who made our life….unforgettable…tears fall when i am reminded of those “happy days”..that innocence,that life-golden era of the life.

writing about my school,the teachers,those wonderful days…..pages aren’t sufficient to fill in those moments…”Missing all my teachers and friends,fun”

Touched My Heart

Hi Guys, I just happenend to go thru the site and read all the posts and comments of my fellow alumni and felt very nostalgic about CFTRI school. I just could not stop thinking of the wonderful times I spent in CFTRI school. I was a student of the 1992 passout batch. I am currently working for Microsoft and based out of Hyderabad.

I felt good about you guys,who have made an attempt to keep this forum alive. At the same time I had tears in my eyes thinking about my school friends and teachers, most of whom I am not in touch with. This blog has really made me think about them and I have now started searching for their whereabouts . If any of you have contact of any of our teachers please let me know. I feel so lucky to be a part of this wonderful school which provided the right foundation for many of us to lead a quality life and to be good citizens. I can write a volume on all the good things about my school.

I want to get in touch with all my school friends and want more and more of my freinds to keep writing in this blog. Guys, let us please keep this alive and kicking.
